«Global Business Services» unit organizes access to transactional data for cross-business processes
(Client Services, Finance, Risk, Liquidity, Transaction Reporting, and Compliance) through Trades &
Positions data warehouses. A Data Quality operational structure was launched in 2015 to implement
Data Quality tools and processes around four pillars (Data Dictionary, Certification, Control and
Remediation) following BCBS 239 principles.
The position of Data Quality Team Manager contains two distinct roles: a role of "operational
management" and a role of "creation / transformation".
The Data Quality team was divided till 2018 between Paris (7 members) and Bangalore (8 members).
The position of Data Quality Program Manager within Capital Markets Operations’ Data Office contains
mainly an operational role to collect business needs on data quality, define and implement controls,
analyze root causes of data anomalies and execute remediation plans.
Responsibilities and achievements:
• Build a Data Quality team in Paris and Bangalore based on Continuous Improvement best practices
(methodology inspired from Lean Management).
• New Operational Framework deployed worldwide to answer data quality business requirement
(coordination and roles definition of business, IT, production and architecture teams worldwide).
• Creation of Data Quality dashboards with qualitative / quantitative indicators and deployment of
communication means for business lines and management.
• Deploy Data Dictionary and Data Certification tools and procedures.
• Delivery of "Accuracy" and "Completeness" controls and implementation of Remediation processes.
• Analysis of operational data issues spotted by downstream users (mainly Risk, Liquidity, Regulatory).
• Enhance the booking schemas of clearing and collateral management operations.
• Project management (organization of Steering and Operational Committees, budget management
and monitoring, planning and reporting, resource management).
• Implementation of audit recommendations followed at Top Management level.
• Innovation / Creativity: get organized to capture new ideas, tools and processes from the outside
world (non-banking potentially) by exploring and participating to conferences out of Société Générale.
• PoC (Proof of concept) "Data Science to monitor Transactional Data Quality", test & learn approach:
Solution selected during SG Hackathon was deployed within Trade Support Unit team’s applications.
PRC (Counterparty Risk Monitoring) is the information system for analyzing and reporting counterparty
credit risk metrics. The main users and sponsors are Risk and Front Office departments.
The PRC team in charge of applications and 2nd level support was composed in Paris of 3 project
managers, 2 business analysts and 3 developers. Part of the team was based in Bangalore.
Responsibilities and achievements:
• Head of PRC Baseline (Catalogue tasks other than project).
• Projects delivered: Issuer Risk, PCRU Banks, Financial Stability Board.
• Contribute to Agile methodology implementation within PRC team.
• Prioritize and schedule backlog tasks during Sprint planning’s with Sponsors.
• Budget management and monitoring, project planning and reporting.
• Project Resources Management.
• Organize Steering and Operational Committees.
• Coordinate production, network, architecture and upstream applications teams.
• Second level support (Production incidents) management.
The RDS development team consisted of 5 senior and junior full stack developers in Paris. In the
period 2007 - 2008 part of the team was based in Bangalore.
Responsibilities and achievements:
• Management of the development team.
• Cost estimation, validation of costing and technical solutions.
• Progress follow-up of the development team tasks.
• Design and implementation of IT solutions (Word & Excel macros, Java applications, new service
architecture and .NET applications).
• Impact analysis and implementation of the new off-shore setup of work.
• Training and coaching of the Bangalore development team.
• Task dispatching depending on schedules, development complexity and resources’ skills.
• Coordination of external teams (production, networks, architecture).
• Second level support (Production incidents) management.
• Analysis, technical studies, design and development of car financing and leasing webservices (18
months fixed-price contract for Renault).
• Applicative module setup for data migration from SAP to Excel (1-month contract for Dade Behring).
• Websites and applications design and development, users support (contractor at Anthium Finance).
• Integration of printing technology using Windows API functions (6 months contract for KPMG).
