L’objectif du projet était de développer un appel
d’offre , de le conduire dans le but de construire un
centre de développement en Europe de l’Est ou Asie.
Le projet devait tenir compte de l’organisation du
Software Development de Symphony et ses processus,
des compétences des sociétés de « outsourcing » et
des avantages et inconvénients de chaque pays
envisagé.
Lead all R&D deliveriesforthe Railteam (300 developers);the team was
organized in Agile with 27 scrumsin two “tribes” on 5 different locations, in
Europe, India and Australia.
The main achievements wasthe complete re-organization ofthe team to
match and to fit the organizationalstructure to the Agile processes, a
complete review and re-organization oftheQuality processintegrated in the
Agile processes, and a complete review ofthe software development cycle ,
migration to GitHub, automatic quality checks and release processing.
Supervised all projects and implementation forthe Rail division, DeutscheBann International web site (online in 2018), SBB International Web site
(online in 2019) , Swedish SV Railway Inventory project (ongoing)….
Program Director of a major program forthe Benelux Railways(NS-SNCB):
the objective ofthe program isto replace the currentsystemof NS/SNCB for
Internationaltrains by an Amadeussolution. Thisincludesthe distribution in
the travel agencies,the .com for both NS and SNCB, the stations and Call
Center, the development ofthe a new JSON/rest API.
Lead Implementation of Innovation competency center prototype center in South Africa and Ireland for the
Airlines industries : the aim of these centers is to develop the business of the Amadeus Airlines customers with
innovative initiatives and ideas , develop and test via proof of concept , hand over to the Airlines or the Amadeus
division for operational implementation . The Irish center is operational, the South African center was ready to go
but canceled.
Lead Internal innovation projects: Amadeus has a process to gather and select innovations internally through all
divisions and businesses. Once a proposal is mature and selected a project is started with the objective to reach
the next level of maturity required by the governance.
Many innovation projects were run and reach a Proof of Concept maturity, among others:
• A baggage management system tracker, using the blockchain technology.
• A virtual reality Travel trip using Microsoft Hololens for the Travel Agencies customer
experience
• A dynamic inventory management system for the Amadeus Rail inventory
R&D Development Director forthe Digital productsuite (Web, Mobile, Kiosk) and the Call center product (Altea
Reservation Desktop Web) (450 developers on multiple development centers).
Program Director ofthe new product Contact center for Airlines: It was a new product using Web technologies
and using a J2EE common Booking engine ofthe Digitalsuite,representing 350 effort years of development and
the collaboration with many divisionsin Amadeus. Our Launch customer was Cathay Pacific, followed by Air Berlin,
Singapore Airlines, JAL, Southwest Airlines....
The main challenges were to develop a fast and efficient product necessary in Call centers but using Web
technologies; as wellthe product had to be flexible and customizable to match the various and specific processes
of each Airlines Call Center.
Program Director of the re-engineering and design of the Digital suite : each channels had their own UI
and for the Kiosk and the mobile Check-in a different booking engine : the goal of the project was to
develop a new User Interface , using last Web technologies, Responsive design , with the common Digital
booking engine for all channels.
The project was managed internally but with an extensive and close relationship with a UX-Web Design
company.
Lead Agile implementation and Lean management: the objective was to review the full development
cycle in order to gain time to market. The target was to reach a fast and light 4 weeks delivery cycle
instead of a 4-6 months delivery heavy release cycle.
This was achieved with a complete change of the software management system, the re-engineering of all
processes and in particular the quality and operational procedures.
As well an Agile implementation was run, using “Spotify” practices. It started in the London development
center with a team of 4 centers and in remote with QA members from Bangalore
It was then extended to the full Bangalore teams and started in the Nice development center.
R&D Development Director forthe Travel Agency product installed in 300000 travel agencies around the world.
The product was developed in JavaScript and using some componentsin Microsoft C++.
It included the Travel Agency UI itself, a local API, a Ticket printer management, a secured messaging system and a
deployment-installersoftware .
The aim ofthe division wasto deliver Travel Agency functionalitiesfor all markets and countriesrequired by the
Product Management team.
The main achievement wasto move from CD-ROM yearly release to software managed quarterly release for all
markets and alltype of PCs and devices.
As well was developed the foundations of a new booking engine developed in J2EE technology,
later on used for Airline Call Center product.
