The CCN/CSI (Common Communication Network / Common System Interface) project proposes a technical infrastructure that aims to interrelate the IT systems of all National Administrations dealing with Customs and Indirect Taxation. The basic idea is to provide a common set of programming interfaces (the CSI APIs) into each application platform, and to connect it to a backbone communication network through a dedicated computer (the CCN/CSI gateway) supporting all routing, security and presentation functions. Several interaction modes are available, in particular, remote procedure call and message queuing.
Roles & Responsibilities: Network & Systems Responsible at the CCN Technical Centre in charge of:
- Co-ordinating the activity of the CCN/TC Network & System team,
- Co-ordinating the hardware deployment activity on the CCN/CSI network (24 sites in Europe, 48 systems), including relations with sub-contractors and National Administrations responsibles,
- Providing technical consultancy in Telecommunication Network Design & Internet Technologies. As Technical Consultant, in charge of the CCN Intranet Design and Prototype implementation.
