Moved from a 12 months release cycle to a 3 months release cycle.
Delivered new strategic products, upgrades and patches on time and with the expected quality.
Reduced significantly the backlog of issues; raised customer satisfaction.
• Over the last years, I played a key role in the design and development of projects for the public safety market. Some examples:
o CTI client applications for Avaya, Alcatel and Siemens telephone switches (PBX).
o Software services for localizing mobile phones (LBS) and identifying telephone callers (AniAli).
o System for recording telephone and mobile radio calls in a call center environment.
o Application to guide police units to the location of incidents using Cassidian’s TETRA messages (SDS).
o Customize Intergraph’s I/Dispatcher to the Belgian Fire & Medical call-taking and dispatching workflows.
o Application to send emergency medical data to a remote database using an e-Health web service.
Core Expertise
I gleaned during the last 6 years a strong experience of public safety environments. Particularly, I am consulted for call-center systems (Alcatel OXE, Avaya CM CTI/TSAPI, Siemens OpenScape environments, Verint’s Audiolog recording solution) and for mobile radio development (EADS/Cassidian TETRA system). I have also a solid experience in the development of CAD systems for electronic and electromagnetic circuit designs.
My software expertise is in C++ and C#:
C++ object-oriented design and development
16 years of experience in large and complex C++ projects with expertise in object oriented programming, Win32 multithread environment, STL and Boost libraries. Besides the technical aspects of programming, I attach great importance to the quality of the code. Writing maintainable and robust software is important for me even for small projects. I am skilled with creating well-documented and readable software libraries in a manner convenient to and understandable by the users. New: I have started writing C++ 11.
C# and .NET programming
I write C# professionally. I am familiar with mixed-platform projects (native C++, C++/CLI, C#). My current projects are based on event-driven / multi-threaded components.
Visual Studio 2005 / 2010 and… 2012
Visual Studio is my preferred development environment. I have professional licenses for VS 2005/2008/2010 and 2012. I have also a long experience with VS 6.0.
Application refactoring and debugging
I enjoy code refactoring and debugging. Both require strong analytical skills and perseverance. If you have legacy programs that you need to fix or upgrade, you can contact me.
Databases, SQL
I have worked with Oracle server in commercial environments. I've also worked with MS SQL. I know how to write applications that use ADO.NET objects like data sets and data readers. But I can't claim I am a database expert.
...and in these areas:
• Version control with CVS, Subversion.
• Runtime analysis with IBM Rational PurifyPlus
• Code documentation with Doxygen
• Defect reporting and tracking with Redmine
