Development Deliverables


• Solution Architecture Document


This document serves as the blueprint for the MES implementation. It outlines the overall system architecture, including hardware and software components, data flows, and communication protocols. The document specifies how the MES will interact with other systems (such as ERP, PLM, or SCADA) and defines key design principles (e.g., scalability, security, performance). By providing a clear vision of the system architecture, it helps ensure that all stakeholders have a common understanding of the project's technical direction.


• Technical Implementation Plan


This plan delineates the roadmap for deploying the MES solution. It includes a detailed timeline of activities, resource allocation (both human and technical), and identifies key milestones and deliverables. The plan also highlights potential risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring that the project stays on track. It can incorporate phases such as design, development, testing, and deployment, allowing for organized tracking of progress and facilitating effective project management.


• Development and Configuration Guidelines


These guidelines provide a framework for developers and technical teams to follow during the implementation process. They include coding standards, configuration best practices, and specific instructions on how to customize the MES platform to meet organizational requirements. The guidelines help maintain quality, consistency, and maintainability across the development efforts, reducing the likelihood of errors and ensuring that the final product aligns with stakeholder expectations.


• Development Team Management


This involves the close supervision and guidance of the development team throughout the project lifecycle. The Technical Leader is responsible for fostering a collaborative environment, ensuring that team members are clear on their roles and responsibilities. Regular meetings and check-ins are crucial to address any challenges, provide feedback, and adapt project plans as necessary. By actively managing the team, the Technical Leader can maintain focus on project objectives, promote accountability, and ensure that the quality of work meets project standards.


• Software Integration Activities


This deliverable focuses on coordinating and executing activities necessary for integrating the MES solution with existing systems in the organization. It includes defining interfaces, data mapping, and testing integration points to ensure seamless data flow and functionality across systems. The Technical Leader must collaborate with other IT teams to address integration challenges and ensure that data consistency and business processes are maintained. This ensures that the MES operates effectively within the broader IT ecosystem, maximizing its value for the organization.


• System Configuration


Configure the MES system based on the defined requirements and business processes, ensuring it aligns with the organization's needs.


• Gap Analysis


Identify any gaps between the existing system and the desired functionalities, and propose solutions to bridge those gaps.


• Business Process Mapping


Analyze and document the current and desired business processes to determine how the MES can support and optimize them.


• Change Management


Help to build with entities to develop change management strategies and plans to ensure successful adoption of the MES solution and mitigate any resistance to change.


• Data Analysis and Reporting


Utilize the MES system to analyze production data, generate reports, and provide insights to drive informed decision-making.


• Continuous Improvement


Monitor the performance of the MES system, gather feedback from users, and identify opportunities for further enhancements or optimizations.


These deliverables play a critical role in the successful execution of the MES Core Model project, contributing to a structured, strategic approach that yields high-quality outcomes.


Competencies of Technical Leader Activities in an End-to-End Approach


• Technical Expertise in MES


A deep understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems, specifically Apriso, including its architecture, functionalities, and customization options. This expertise is crucial for making informed decisions and guiding the team effectively.


• Project Management Skills


Proficiency in project management methodologies, including the ability to plan, execute, and oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and risk management. This competency ensures that the project progresses smoothly and stays within budget.


• Strong Programming Skills


An APRISO technical leader should have a deep understanding of programming languages such as Java or C#, as well as proficiency in relevant frameworks and technologies used in the APRISO platform. A strong technical background is necessary, encompassing skills like software development, database management, and web services integration. They should be comfortable working with different technologies, frameworks, and APIs.


• APRISO Platform Knowledge


Possess a solid understanding of the APRISO platform, including its features, functionalities, and integration capabilities. Familiarity with the APRISO development environment and tools is also essential.


• Solution Design and Architecture


Experience in designing and architecting software solutions. This includes the ability to analyze requirements, determine the most suitable architectural patterns, and design scalable and maintainable solutions.


• Problem-Solving and Debugging


Proficiency in problem-solving and debugging is crucial. The technical leader should be able to quickly identify and address technical issues, analyze logs and error messages, and propose effective solutions.

Preferably familiar with the MES CORE Model context through previous experience. A minimum of 8 years of experience in APRISO projects is requested.
